Directions and Parking

The Museum of Art's address is 224 Benefit Street, Providence. There are two entrances to the Museum, on Benefit Street through the Farago Wing at the corner of Benefit and Waterman Streets. You may also enter the Museum through RISD's Chace Center at 20 North Main Street, Providence.

PARKING
Parking is available along the street (metered or timed parking along Benefit and N. Main Streets) or at the Metropark lot at North Main and Steeple streets, diagonally across from the First Baptist Church in America. Tell the attendant that you are visiting the Museum in order to receive discount parking. Bring your Metropark slip to the Museum front desk for validation.

DRIVING
From I-95: Take Exit 22A to downtown Providence. Continue straight on Memorial Boulevard, turn left onto College Street at the traffic lights. Turn left onto N. Main Street (US-44) at Market Square. The Chace Center is on the right. There is street parking along North and South Main Street in metered spaces. You may also enter the Museum through the Farago Wing, the Benefit Street entrance at the corner of Benefit and Waterman Streets.

Traveling west on I-195: Take Exit 2 (in Rhode Island) to South Main Street and continue for half a mile. The Chace Center is at 20 N. Main Street on your right. There is street parking along North and South Main Street in metered spaces. You may also enter through the Benefit Street entrance at the corner of Benefit and Waterman Streets.

TRAIN
The Amtrak/Regional Train Station The Providence Amtrak Station is at 100 Gaspee Street, Providence, RI.

Walking from the train station: Exit the station through the Downtown exit and turn left. Walk down the hill on Park Row. Cross the Providence River. Turn right onto N. Main Street and walk to the Chace Center, 20 N. Main Street. In order to enter through the Farago Wing: you may also turn left right after the First Baptist Church in America onto Waterman Street and walk up the hill. Turn right onto Benefit Street and enter the Museum through the Farago Wing.

Driving from the train station: Exit the station through the Downtown exit and turn right. Turn left immediately on Park Row West. Follow it down the hill to the Providence River. Turn right onto Canal Street and get in the far left lane. Turn left onto Washington Place which becomes Waterman Street. Turn right onto Benefit Street. You may also enter the Museum through RISD's Chace Center at 20 North Main Street.

BUS
Find your best route on the RIPTA bus schedule. Greyhound and Peter Pan also have regular service to Providence.
